Issam is on the run. When the town mayor shot his cat, he fought back in a violent episode that has brought the anger of the villagers on his head, forcing him to flee to the next valley. His friend Raafat eventually finds him there, hiding out in an abandoned cabin. They leave, Issam raging against the injustice done to him by the tyrannical mayor while the older Raafat remonstrates with him, urging him to keep quiet. He knows, however, that Issam will never stay silent in the face of tyranny. It is up to Raafat to choose between his friend and his own political survival.
